| The transformation from Ko-omote to Hannya in Noh masks represents how the Ko-omote, the mask of a young woman, transforms into the Hannya, the mask of a demon woman, due to jealousy or resentment. This transformation is used as a technique to simultaneously express the mysterious beauty of Noh theatrical expression and the intense changes in emotion. We have created facial changes from Ko-omote to Deigan, Namanari, Hannya (Honnari), Jya, and finally Shin Jya. |
